Lake Avery Description
Lake Avery is 20 miles east of Meeker. Take State Highway 13 for 1.5 mile, turn right onto County Road 8 for 19 miles. Turn left at the dam to access the outlet of Lake Avery or proceed up County Road 8 for another mile to reach the inlet of Lake Avery. Avery Lake offers fishing for Rainbow and Cutthroat Trout. There are campsites and a boat landing ramp at the outlet side (south) of the lake. Lake Avery is not within the White River National Forest; it is managed by the Colorado Division of Wildlife.
